Wigan looking for Moore from Peter
Versatile defender and midfielder, Peter Moore, has shown determination both on and off the field which has already earmarked him as a potential first-teamer at Wigan Athletic.
Having tasted life at an early age at Everton he was determined to take advantage of his second chance at professional level and has worked hard at the AASE programme.
As part of his education programme Peter has been involved with running practical coaching sessions at Wigan’s Centre of Excellence for under 10s and under 11s.
“I can’t really put into words just how much I feel I’ve improved as a player since joining Wigan. I was gutted to be released from Everton because I had been there for nine years. But that’s all behind me now and I’m thrilled to be given this chance. I know that’s all it is – a chance – but I am determined to make the most of it,” he says.
“I have been lucky enough to train and play with professionals who have seen it and done it at the highest level whilst I’ve been here, which has been a fantastic experience. Now I know I need to focus and move up another level.”
Wigan coach, David Lowe, feels that Peter has responded well to the encouragement he has been given by the club. “He’s done extremely well during his time with us – having been told initially that he needed to improve – and has done exactly what has been asked of him.
“Peter has played a lot of reserve team football and has looked comfortable. He’s shown desire, commitment and ability and we feel he has the potential to improve even further.”
