Derby youngsters adapting well
Two of Derby County’s youngsters have been singled out for praise – not only for their football and scholastic achievements, but for adapting to life in England as well.
Robert Ujcik and Mario Loesch (pictured) are among the club’s second year scholars who have now completed the NVQ, coaching and key skills elements of their apprenticeship course and are close to full completion.
Robert, who is a striker, comes from Slovakia, while midfielder Mario, is Austrian.
The Rams’ Education and Welfare Officer, Bill Morley, is full of admiration for all the youngsters. “We are delighted for them all, but particularly for Robert and Mario who are about to complete their BTEC National Certificate programmes with DD and DM profiles respectively.
“It is an outstanding performance when you consider that they have mastered English as they have progressed through the course as well,” he adds.
